This year’s supported charity is Hector’s House –
As a small charity, every penny goes so far for us. We have very little overhead costs, so we can ensure as much of a fundraiser’s money as possible goes directly to supporting people in the area.
Our aim is to prevent suicide through education, awareness and support – so this money will help us to:
● Support someone at crisis point in getting to the correct care for them – be it navigating the NHS services, psychotherapy/counselling or specific support like suicide bereavement services.
● Provide sessions of listening ear with the Hector’s House team – where we would talk a person through their current mental health and provide healthy habit coaching to get them to a point of wellness
● Raise awareness of the amazing causes out there that are available to everyone – as well as continually providing free online resources such as our Library of Calm, Eat Move Love Movement and Sunday Sanctuary.
● Signposting people looking for mental health support, or concerned loved ones not sure where to turn to, to the best and most effective care for them and their family.
● Your kindness means that our team can make school visits in the local area, where we deliver our popular mental health presentations such as Eat Move Love – and offer a listening ear service and immediate signposting at the end of our talk to any students feeling affected by the talk. These talks are free, to ensure everyone has access to mental health support regardless of their situation.
